Thanks maryagn3s for your post

My timeline is very similar to yours, yet I have not heard anything
maryagn3s wrote:first post but i'm nearly six months into waiting.

got a telephone call from the Home Office last night (the man was processing my app and needed to confirm my postal address?!?)...

anywho... here's my timeline:

11/10/2012 - posted application - Set O
12/10/2012 - application received (tracking information confirmed)
17/10/2012 - confirmation letter of receipt received
12/2012 - Biometric Enrollment Request received (enrolled same day)
02/2013 - Identical Biometric Enrollment Letter received (i emailed asking if i needed to re-enrol and also rang... was told, over phone, there was an error after the Post Office sent the previous data so i needed to re-enrol. I did so the following day).
02/04/2014 - Received telephone call from Home Office to confirm my postal address (I am an academic on research leave so working away from home. I posted a letter in January to confirm this and suggest a delivery address for passport/BRP and other docs).

Awaiting next step ....

Will keep you updated .

Was hoping to see more positive stories . Any news that UKBA processing times will be/are improving ?
New Update 4/4/2013 :

Received application back on 1 March 2013 . Application Void . My mistake . Both me and my Visa consultant miss the fact that I have only entered 12 of the 16 digits on my debit card . Doh!

New application with new paperwork sent in 15 March 2013
22 March 2013 - Letter confirming receipt of application
28 March 2013 - Invitation Letter To Do Biometrics Done

It does seem that the UKBA are acting much more quicker....

My timings are similar to yours. Only got delayed in getting my Biometrics done as my Solicitor sent me attached PDF for Biometrics which I printed off, but Post Office declined stating they require originals...due to bank holiday, I had my Biometrics done on 2nd April...

Under what Category did you apply @arthurlvice

You could make a difference from printed copies and originals...
They said the barcode will not work...
So had to request Originals from Solicitors via post....

Reading this Forum, it does appear that SET (M) are much more quicker....

Lets hope for the best...my Solicitor has said I should hear from UKBA in 4 weeks time....the countdown has begun :)

You have just saved me a wasted trip . Thank you ! My Visa consultant also sent me the form via e-mail and I was on my way to get my Biometrics done tomorrow with printed papers . Anyway I called him and told him I would pick up the originals from him tonight .

It seems the UKBA is moving into the right direction with the recent shake-up . Only time will tell . Keep me updated on your progress .

It was an operator on the UKBA enquiry line who said writing would be the only way to get any information. I did not find any guidance on this, but the UKBA complaints policy is available online and I had a look at that.
thanks Oztag,
Guess I should also put in writing. Applied on 25 oct through solicitor, over five months, and still waiting.

@ant06
Yes I work full time, so as prove of income i submitted my payslips, p60 and bank statements.
My hub also Submitted his as well we don't have joint accounts.
Payslips - was for last six months
P60 - annually so submitted for Last 2 years
Bank statement - I submitted for last three months, then also two for year 2011, two for 2010, 2009 -I picked the months randomly.

For Other letters and bills its important you Submit at least two for each year - just to show u have both being living together since your last visa.

Hope this helps

I was a silent reader of this site, and now looking at this data regretting why I applied via postal route. The % of pending applications is clearly behind this feeling, approx. 19% pending applications for June, 66% for Jul and Aug and 78% for Sep and so on.

Below is my timeline:

Application type: SET(O) (Main + 3 dependent)
Applied: 2nd week of Dec 2012
Recvd. acknowledgement letter dated - 12th Dec 2012
Payment taken: 17th Dec 2012 (by CHQ)
Bio registration done: 21st Jan 2013 (via post office)
ILR approval: awaited
Docs: awaited

I think the whole thing depends on luck and on what mood your case worker was on receipt of your application.... Clearly there are procedures however not all case workers are sticking to them, judging by some timelines mentioned

Anyways here is my timeline

applied for ILR on 19/09/12 based on 5yrs work permit although I have been here for 12yrs..
biometrics in November cant remember exact date
02/02/13 received a letter to submit September bank statement
04/02/13 BS sent and received following day (according to Royal Mail)
24/03/13 Still waiting

Getting frustrated I have to travel on the 5/4/13 and most importantly this could stop me from being able to do my job as some projects require to see a passport if you are a foreign national and I had informed them I will have it week commencing 25/3/13...a week after end of 6 months.

Does anyone know if a lawyer can get involved at this stage or there isn't much they can do either?
Hi hall, got great news I received my documents this morning, letter dated 25/03/13, just over 6 months.
BRP is coming within 7 working days.

Good luck to all

Ha, seriously I am finding this whole process laughable....it's now over 7 days since my approval letter and am still waiting for BRP...

Please be warned, until you have received everything do not plan any travels or get too excited... I thought my waiting was over but nope I still need to be patient.,.. On a positive note I have saved a lot of money by not travelling abroad over the last 9 months... Just me trying to see the good in my bad situation.

Good luck everyone, patience is key!!!

How was your passport returned?
I have been a silent reader for some time now, and today got a letter stating that my BRP would come by courier, and that my passport and documents had been returned along with this letter - but there is nothing here but the letter!
What does this mean? I called UKBA to enquire and they told me all I could do was submit a document return request - am I worrying about nothing?

Here is my timeline:
Date of application: 3 October 2012 through checking service
Acknowledgement: 10 days later
BMI taken: 28th November
Letter received: 8th April
Documents: Awaiting
BRP: Awaiting

For me the letter that I received had all documents enclosed including passport. The letter like yours said BRP will be sent within 7 days.
I am not sure filling in a request of documents is a good one asi believe you only complete that when you are withdrawing your application.

My advice would be to follow what's on the letter and wait for your BRP as they say..then when you get that you can request your documents if by then you haven't received them.

Since your submission was through SCS you will only receive your approval letter and thereafter Biometric Card unless any original document was also submitted which I don't think so. So that letter that you received is the standard letter and nothing to worry about.
