Change of employment Tier 2 (General)

Hi All,

I am currently on tier 2 visa (general) and I have been granted a visa from May 2011 to May 2014. I am planning to change my employer.

Assuming that I mange to get a new COS from my new employer and my application is successful, how long my new visa will be? Is it going to be another 3 years (being considered as an initial application) or until May 2014?

You will get the visa for another 3 years. The maximum time span for tier 2 is 6 years.

That means the change of employment application will be considered as an initial application regardless of the time you have been on Tier 2 visa already?

What would happened if I changed my employer after 4 years being with them? according to what you say I should get visa for another 2 years not for another one year. Am I correct?
