Immigration to USA by defaulted person

Hi

I am here to get some help for my friend. She was living in UK and now went back to her home country. She couldn't carry on repaying her loan and defaulted.

She has applied for immigration to USA. Can anyone please confirm that does it affect USA immigration application or not?
