Settlement visa or certificate of entitlement

Post by chakarj » Sun Jan 19, 2014 6:54 pm

Hi

Father - british citizen by naturalisation
Mother - ILR indian passport

Baby was born in India. I got indian passport and applied for settlement visa. On Friday I received a call from British high commission asking me to withdraw my application - reason being wrong category. Was told that since father is a British citizen I should applied for certificate of entitlement.

Any inputs on this?

Also if I have to apply for COE in chennai does anyone know the processing time?

Thanks

The child is British (and Indian) from birth. A British citizen can't apply for a visa. CoE should take a few weeks.
