Change of Circumstances

Post by astonished » Sat Oct 27, 2012 6:50 pm

I moved address in Sept and sent off the Change of Circumstances to form from the UKBA website to their Sheffield operations.

The form asked me for a PBS number - I have no idea what this is, so I included a cover letter that stated the number on the biometric residence permit and so on.

I have heard NOTHING back from them and have no idea whether they have put in the change on their systems. Is it normal not to get any acknowledgment at all?

Thank you sushdmehta.

Is there any way I can call to find out what address they now have on file?

Actually, according to para 211 of the T2 policy guidance UKBA will confirm in a letter that they have noted the change of circumstances. They also ask the migrant to keep this letter with other original documents.

Don't suppose UKBA are in a particular hurry to desparch these letters, if you don't hear from them you can always write to Sheffield asking for a confirmation of receipt.

Infact I am in the same situation too.
1. Moved to a new flat in Sep 2012.
2. Sent the Change of circumstances form to Sheffield as you did (S3 8WA) - but NO acknowledgement nor any confirmation of my address details updation.

Then I read in this forum that if we have a Tier 2 (General) with a BRP, we need to send the change of address in writing to Croydon. I did that yesterday.

Pls look at "What should you do if you change your address, your circumstances or your education provider?"

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... ibilities/

So I am hoping they write to me this time atleast and confirm that the details are up to date in their system.[img][/img]

I am yet to hear or read that one has received a confirmation of address change, despite the statement from UKBA in several documents related to PBS migrants (and perhaps other categories too). But I guess not everyone posts / advertises that fact so I may be mistaken.

Writing to UKBA to confirm may get them to do what they say in the first place they will.

Hi everyone,

If it is a change of address, I think it can be done online as mentioned here:
