New Immigration Fees Proposed From 6 April 2014

Post by Babz » Mon Feb 03, 2014 8:06 pm

The government has announced proposals to change the fees charged for visas, immigration and nationality applications and associated premium services.

If Parliament approves the changes the new fees will apply from 6 April 2014. Some fees for premium services overseas will apply from 31 March 2014.

The proposals increase most fees by 4 percent, including the short-term visit visa. Other targeted increases are being proposed so that we can limit wider general increases.

The increases will allow us to improve our customer service, and enable us to begin offering optional premium services, including:

a 3-5 day priority visa service costing £100;
a priority settlement application service for a fee of £300;
a super priority visa service for £600, which will expedite the application process to the shortest period possible;
new user pay visa application centres, in addition to the current centres, where applicants can submit applications and enrol biometrics at additional locations for an additional fee of £53;
appointments outside of office hours for a fee of £50; and
offering a passport passback service at more locations, which will be charged at £40 per applicant.
The proposals also contain a number of fee reductions and changes, including:

reducing the fee for direct airside transit visa to £40;
reducing sponsorship fees for Tier 2 large sponsor licenses and sponsor action plans, and freezing a number of other sponsorship fees;
introducing a Tier 2 shortage occupations fee of £428 for applicants both overseas and in the UK;
introducing a new 5 year Tier 2 general/ICT application; and
changing the discount for nationals of countries that have ratified the 1961 European Social Charter to a flat rate of £55.

Another Fee increase by the UKBA

Post by AUHS » Tue Feb 04, 2014 6:17 am

Ukba announces the new purposes fee from 6 April onwards.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... ations.pdf

It's always Tier 1 who is under the Axe. UKBA is very cleaver , they know that majority of the people's are near to ILR or Last extension so fee increase in these applications.

Tier 1 dependants fee increased by 38 % around.

ILR dependant fee increase by 38% around.

Another sign of hostility from UKVI towards the most talented and beneficial migrant category.

Then, an in person application for a Tier 1 General and one dependent will cost around £4000! The shocking point is that according to the report the unit cost is only £242!!! At the same time fees for the most abusive category which is refugees are decreased!

I'd really appreciate if Mrs. May or her staffs give us any reasonable explanation for all these fee increases, tightening the policy, proposal to remove the appeal right, etc.

This can't be right!

Naturalisation (UK Citizenship) single application ¹
£144
£794
£906
4.0%

4% on 794 is 825.6 unless I completely misunderstood the figures...

This is outrageous. They use hard working Highly skilled immigrant as a cash cow and give incentive to those who contributes nothing.

It's a typo. Current fee is £874 not £794

With the priority settlement application service or the super priority visa service for £600, does anyone know if this applys to the spouse visa?

and is a settlement visa the same as a spouse visa?

We will need to file a JR to combat this... and I am convinced that the government has no right to discriminate on the basis of nationality by raising taxes through this backdoor route (to subsidize the general population)... charging above cost is in my personal understanding very likely illegal.

If we win it, we are planning to press for a refund of the excess fees collected by the Home office for all past applicants.

We are asking people to say if they are ready to contribute £500 to make this JR a success... see https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKITF and respond as appropriate.

There used to be a time i.e roughly 12 years ago - then ILR was "free", yes free! when you qualify to get it...

Interesting observation:

Unit cost = Average time spent on a case X Case Worker salary per hour

Average case worker salary = 24K per annum = £12 per hour.

So Average the time spent per ILR case = 144/12 = 12 hours

Does anyone know if I book NCS appointment for 4th of April, 2014, then I'd need to pay £874 or £906 for naturalisation (form AN)?

UKBA will not receive your application until Monday, 7th April so new pay is payable.

Proposed fees from April 2014

Post by cheng1978 » Tue Feb 18, 2014 4:26 pm

Hi all,

Just had a look at the UKBA website and came across the proposed fees effective from 06 April 2014...

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... ees-change

Interestingly, I no longer see the option for Naturalisation as Joint Applicants. Does that imply from 06 April onwards, joint applications will be regarded as 2 single applications and charged as such (ie. £906 x 2 = £1812)?

Would be keen to hear your thoughts on this...thanks!

Home Office fees

Post by Post159 » Wed Feb 19, 2014 2:15 pm

I've already submitted my UKM Application for registering as a British citizen but I just had a questions about the fees?

I know the Home Office intend to raise the fees in April but does this also count for passports too? Also, is it likely I'll have to pay more for my ceremony if I do it after the fees change?

Thanks,

New Immigration Fees proposed

"The government has announced proposals to change the fees charged for visas, immigration and nationality applications and associated premium services"

By the way what is "a super priority visa service for £600, which will expedite the application process to the shortest period possible"
does it also apply for peoples applying from overseas ie Spouses etc ?

Yes that is why we need to oppose all unfair fee increases via a JR. Please come forward to support the cause. We have to help ourselves... more at https://www.facebook.com/groups/UKITF

Proposed fee hike from April 2014 - PBS Dependant

Post by wins7031 » Sun Feb 23, 2014 2:40 pm

As per the below link, there is a proposal to hike PBS Dependant fees which will now become £2007. This will be a great financial hit for ppl like me and others who is due for ILR later this year and whose partners sadly have to extend via this route.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... l_2014.pdf

My question is: As my wife has been a Tier 1 dependant for 2 yrs, can we renew her extension via the FLR (M) route when I apply for ILR in Aug 2014 to help minimise the financial cost ( I am aware this might reset her ILR clock). She initially came as my dependant post July 2012

Kindly advise

Wins

The number '2007' isn't in that document at all.

What are you on about?

Add 1607 (new cost April 14) + 400 (Application in person)

Same calculation method is used for current PEO appt costs

Massive fee increase almost 39% towards almost all categories dependents with 0% service improvement is ridiculous. Mainly targets applicants dependents :oops: :oops:

Is FLR (M) a suitable alternative in this instance albeit the ILR clock will be reset.
