Valid H1B visa, but changed of citizenship

Post by chloeski » Wed Feb 19, 2014 2:37 pm

Hi,
I am currently holding a valid H1B visa, and it is still valid till 2015. However, this visa was stamped on my current passport, and the H1B visa petition was based on my current citizenship. In 2 months time, i will be getting my new citizenship ( with new passort, of Singapore), and i will have to surrender my current passport(that has the visa stamped). I have gathered some information saying that i need to get the H1B visa stamps on my new passport. ( which i think it should be).
My question is: I will have to bring the original H1B petition when getting my new H1B visa on my new passport, is this pettition still valid as my nationality has changed?
Thanks in advance for all the helps.
