No it isnt. Personal Identification Number is one's Dept No. on their GNIB card.

It looks like this 69/123456/13

They do not have a GNIB card....too young (7 & 4 years old) should I used my old number? note that I hold the Irish passport now so I do not have GNIB card any more

Hi All,
A topic for Minors is a bit quiet recently. Can anyone post their dates? Any success recently? Is it still taking 3-4 months in majority of applicants to get the approval? How long did you wait to get a certificate after sending money?

Hi everyone, got some information at Indians in Ireland forum, copy below:

Hi everyone,
Wanted to share my timeline for getting my children approved for Irish Citisenship.

27 August - parents received naturalisation certificate at ceremony
28 August 2013 - sent in applications for children
12 September 2013 - acknowledgement of application and one error in paperwork (my fault)
24 September 2013 - acknowledgement of all paperwork
25 November 2013 - acknowldegement of approval of naturalisation
26 November 2013 - sent in fees and photos
2 December 2013 - naturalisation certificate received in the Post.

So, that is a three-month turnaround time for children, which is really very good. And that includes a 2-week gap for my error in paperwork.

I called today the Citizenship Division Helpline. They told me that they are waiting for external reports agency.
What's does this mean?

Is it Garda report? or other agencies?

Thank you for advice.

I would like to apply citizenship application for my daughter, I need small clarification for my daughter application, my daughter came to Ireland on 17th March 2011, but her child benefit started from 1st of April 2011, so her 3 year duration will finish by 17th of March or 1st of April 2014?
Just to know both parents are naturalised and having Irish citizenship. My daughter is not going to school so child benefit letter and GP letter I need to submit.

Squa
Thanks for the replay.
What’s the proof to say that she arrived on 17th March, Dublin airport didn’t stamped on her arrival?
But she as proof showing Departure date from destination country, do I need to provide it?

Don't worry about proof of date of arrival, they don't require as they have it on their system, and copies of a child's residency stamps are not requested for naturalisation purposes. What they do request as proof that the child has been resident in Ireland is either school letters for a child of school going age, or in your case letters from Dept of Social Protection confirming periods you have been claiming child benefit and from your child's doctor confirming date first registered and date's your child has been to the doctor.

Hi All,

We have received our approval letters today. Now we have to apply for our 6 years old son. I have a question:

Since a Naturalisation Certificate of a parent is required with minor application. Do we have to wait until our citizenship ceremony to get a certificate and then apply for our son's naturalisation OR is there a way around that?

Thanks!

yes you have to wait. you are not an irish citizen until you get your certificate/ attend the ceremony. there is no work around if one you is not an irish citizen.
