I took my private affirmation oath yesterday, it was easy-peasy! :D - it took just 15 mins. I am happy to report that there were no errors on my naturalization certificate, and I am going to apply the British passport tomorrow. Will update you on that as soon as I get it done. So far so good, thanks ...
Thanks Marie B. My local council's Register's Office sent me a group ceremony invitation packet last Friday, for September 26th, 2005 - but I requested earlier date this morning, and have been given the chance to get it done tomorrow morning, at the cost of £75 - I'll take it! :D I will let you know ...
I am filling out the passport application, it says I should provide a professional person as a referee. Just wondering what kind of people would qualify as professional, also if you could share the profession of the people you used as a reference.
Thanks John, I will update you guys as soon as I get the invitiation letter. Olisun - I called my local citizenship center today, and they told me that the private ceremony costs just £75 at their office. So, I will definetly do that, as I have personal overseas arrangements next month. Earliest ...
The approval letter is dated August 25th, how long does it take for people to receive their invitation to the citizenship letter after the approval? - I am hoping I get it a week from now at the latest.
I finally got my approval letter today! - the waiting has finally come to an end. Thanks to those who supported me during the anxious times, specially "John", you have been very helpful.
juniorcitizen In accounting for my absences from the UK, my solicitor has advised that I only need to account for the stamps in my passport, and not for trips that are not denoted in my passport by an entrance/exit stamp. Sorry I came late but I would really question the competence (and ethics) of ...
No, I didn't. I was just wondering if such option was available.
Congrats for I receiving the approval letter, I read on americanexpats that you did few days back, but not the ceremony invitation. I hope you get it soon.
bhavna Someone posted the following timeline on another immigration forum, hope it helps: 22nd June - Checking Service appointment (Redbridge Council) 02nd July - Received letter of approval and original college certificates back! Was contacted a few days later about the citizenship ceremony. 03rd ...
I am in London, I added the police report just to see if it will move things faster, completly my wish to do so. Although, IND might think including one itself is considered a good character.
You know, I am glad your brought up that Police report issue. I ordered my police report few months before I filed for naturalization, paid the £10 fee too, and decided to include it with my naturalization application once I received it. I didn't find anywhere saying you are required to submit one, ...
Now that makes sense. :) A recent reported averages on (postal) naturalization from people who shared their experiences online were about 7-10 weeks (or about 2.5 months), not more. So surely it's the begining of happy times if that tends to be the real trend. Please, keep us updated if you hear ...
Seriously I expect the waiting time to continue to fall, especially after the Nationality Checking Service is rolled out to all parts of the country. When that happens the office in Liverpool will not be bothered needing to deal with applications not supported by the required documents. I am ...
I applied back in June via regular post. I am on week 7 now, and so far heard nothing from the home-office. I was told that it typically takes 2 months for case-workers to start working on cases that they receive by mail. NSC is the fast track in my opinion, I would recommend using it if you haven't ...
Hi I finally received an acknowledgement of receipt to my application (British Citizenship) today, but it's dated 22nd of June (my application was received at Liverpool on the 14th of June). It's says this; This is to acknowledge receipt of your application and the following documents. Application ...
