My Tier 2 extension was refused as I relied on my previous COS and my sponsor licence had since expired too. My UT appeal was allowed due to the fact that I completed my 10 years lawfully stay in the UK in Jan 2015.

You made both FLR applications before the expiration of your valid leave. So, you'll also get a right of appeal in case the FP application fails.
