Re: I chased my naturalisation application and…

I have never gotten them. I checked my calendar to see if I was away at the time and perhaps missed it because of that, but no. my friend thinks they might have forgotten to actually post it. and we have had issues with the post, like f.e. the postman delivering our neighbours’ posts to us and vice v ...

I chased my naturalisation application and…

…I am so happy I did! I’ve been approaching 6 months of waiting and heard nothing back at all. After emailing twice in the past 10 days to the HO – on email addresses that had been shared on this board before (THANKS!) – I received a reply. They advised that my application was approved back in May (j ...

Re: Application status and check questions

Hello tresgoya, my advice: Apply for settled status now; it's a much simpler and easier process than the PR card and you can get your approval within few days (It took 9 days for me) it will give you piece of mind in this chaotic Brexit nightmare we're living. If I were you I would continue to ...

Re: Application status and check questions

You cannot get status updates. Your MP cannot do anything for you. Applying for settled status is not really required for now. The social media issue is not relevant. Please wait to hear back :!: Thanks Zimba. I appreciate your help. Just one more question. Why is the settled status not required ...

Application status and check questions

Hi, I’m getting close to 6 months now and still didn’t have a letter re: my naturalisation. EU citizen with perm residency. I know 6 months is standard and the HO won’t give info prior. However, I’d like to know: - would they actually give any status updates after 6 months? I saw posts on here from f ...

Genuine question: If we are going to glue the photo on the form then what's the purpose of writing at the back of it?
They didn't even look at the original forms. None. Just passport.

You are not making an application under the EU route, ie a residence card or PR.

You are applying for citizenship, no photos required other than the ones stuck to the referee forms.
Thanks. Sorry. It wasnt clear for me from the online text. Great. So now they are recalling for nothing....

Re: Question about English knowledge - incorrect answer

OP - same happened to me. HO told me to submit a cover letter. I also asked about this at the appointment and they said the cover letter should be fine. The other alternative, I was offered was to give them the print-out of the online application at the appointment and they can cross the yes out ...

Sopra Steria appointment- photo requirement

Hi, Had my appointment today and I'm equally confused, pissed and worried. On the Sopra site, it's stated that 'if you apply via EEA route then you need to bring a passport photo to the appointment, which they will scan and upload. I assume this would be applicable to me, me being from the EU ...

English test number

Referee form panic

I submitted my application - thanks to this board for all the help. I'm just in the middle of uploading docs and noticed that on the referee form the instructions say that the form needs to be filled out by the referee. I was the one who filled out the 'name of the applicant' section and then the ...

Tax Return Form issue

I used to be self - employed (sole trader) for 2 years. I used to submit my tax return online and was going to include the copies one can print out from the platform, as supporting documents. These have 'copy only, do not send to HMRC' or 'for your records only' notes on the pages. When I phoned the ...

Re: Employment end date screw- up -> Help

The purpose of EEA applicants supplying employment details is proving residency - you will know that employment as such isn't a requirement for naturalisation. Bearing this in mind, it's a minor discrepancy which is immaterial. Also, P45 forms are not re-issued so would recommend you submit as is ...

Employment end date screw- up -> Help

I'm in the midst of getting ready my supporting docs for employment for naturalisation. I started my current employment on 21/11/2016. I got a letter from HR and all, stating this. Before this current employment, I was working as a temp for a month via a recruitment agency. I am looking at the P45 I ...

I'd also love to know the answer where to load the referee and LIUK + English test results.

Should it go under 'Other'?

Parents' details + keeping passport

Re: parents details. I'm having issues with these. My parents passed away when I was little and I don't really have the details they ask for on the naturalisation form in official docs. I asked my cousins who gave me the DOB's and the towns of birth, but I can't guarantee these are 100% accurate ...

Please help me make sense of this paragraph - residency

I do understand the words (see text at the very end of the post), but I am still confused about the below extract in the naturalisation guide. I'm an EU citizen, got my permanent residency back in Nov 2016 and now applying for naturalisation. So, if I submitted my application on the 1st of April ...

Re: EEA residence refusal due to tresty rights

I don't see how they could refuse it based on her contract being a temp one.. She was still a worker, i.e. exercising treaty rights. ??? In terms of appeals. Lots of the people on here would say to rather submit a brand new application. The appeal process is very lengthy apparently. It's quicker to ...
