i looks like they came up with this excuse to make money i think u should make a complain or just try again with the hope to see a different officer.

applied nov 2007, still waiting , spouse of irish citizen (naturalised) never asked for further documents , supporting dcouments submitted anually voluntary i.e. self employment, tax clearance , copy of wife irish passport ect..
