Yes my wife did use VAF2 form when she applied for dependent visa in India.
Her visa shows HSMP Dependent.
We used VAF2 for my child as well ( last month) and the visa stamp shows HSMP Child.

My wife was on HSMP dependent visa. She was here in the UK for 10 months and then went to India for delivery and is back here earlier this month. SO overall she has been here for less than a year. yes that's right.. my new born has been here just for over 2 weeks.
As i was the main applicant the dependents will have no criteria.

the criterias for getting ILR is only for the main applicant. Dependents get the ILR automatically when the main applicant gets it.

I called up VFS today and they told me that the processing takes time because of the backlog. Do they need more than 5 weeks to process an application ?

Ashish - In my case I am in the UK and have submitted all the bank statement from UK bank and still my application is in process for last 4 weeks. So I am not sure if it is because of Indian Banks verification response time.

I dont know why it takes BHC a long time to process the dependent application..and in my case me and my wife have already got the visas it is only for my 3 month old baby .. anyway will have to wait :( .. wishing you luck and please update this thread if you get any ...
