I obtained my HSMP letter 31oct 2006 but I my visa stamp is on Jan 5th 2007.Does my ILR clock start from former or latter date.

I was hoping if I could add the WP to my ILR.
I have contacted the HO and they mentioned I need to apply for National ID card and they will issue me a new one instead of the vignette VISA stamp in my new passport.

My suggestion would be not to risk going till 2011. one of my firends doing medicine was in the country for 6 years, worked for 2.5 years in UK and then went to Australia for a years to work.She came back and she lost the continuity of the period that would have made her eligible for ILR in 10 years ...
