Tier 1 to ILR - Do I have to be employed when applying?

I'm going for ILR in March but am losing my job in January. I'll meet all the Tier 1 ILR requirements, including income, so my only worry is that I won't be employed at the time of ILR application. Does that matter? I can't see anywhere where it says anything about being currently employed. Thanks ...

Re: ILR Tier 1 retire before ILR?

The less than one month old payslip requirement is for Tier 2, not Tier 1. So maybe I'm ok? Still risky I guess...

Re: ILR Tier 1 retire before ILR?

I thought the earnings requirement was the same as for Tier 1 renewal - meet the minimum in 12 of the prior 15 months, which I can. I missed the part about showing a payslip that less than a month old. I'll check on that. Thanks for the pointer!

ILR Tier 1 retire before ILR?

I'm here on a Tier 1 (general) visa and can apply for ILR in April 2016. I hate my job and will have earned enough to meet the earnings requirement by the end of 2015. I'd love to retire then (I'm 60) but that will mean I'm unemployed when I apply for ILR. Does that matter as long as I meet the Tier ...

And yes, they gave me the UPS tracking number in the email.

I don't know why they wouldn't send an email, as I thought that was SoP. Keep checking! I ran home from work at lunch today cause I couldn't stand it anymore, and there it was! Yours will show up too!

The email says 11:49am. You have a few more hours, don't worry. It'll come! LA starts off a bit slower than NYC, right? A bit more relaxed (or less uptight)

I got mine! An email arrived saying my UK visa has been issued and my passport is being delivered.

US, NYC applicant

Woohoo!

Sounds like we're all gonna get in at once. Pretty cool!

I put July 1st, 2011. Then in my comments, cover letter, and anywhere else I could, I asked for the 90 days. Hopefully that will make sense to them. I really don't care what the date is, but I need to 90days to get everything shut down here before I go - you know, sell the car, put the house on the ...

Drat! It would be nice to know. At least your status changed, so they were working on these during the holly days!

Good luck!

I just asked them to post-date 90 days since I didn't have a clue when I'd get in.

How do you check the tracking status? It sounds like you're in good shape!

Oh, I totally agree. And in the past, pre-limit-that-is-no-more, it probably didn't matter. Now, tho, I think there were so many apps coming in a once that they didn't even notice my supporting documents arrived a few weeks later. I'm just anxious to get "my date" so I can make plans. I know we all ...

"Date of application" is the date used, not the date you submit supporting documents. In the US, we can only apply online, then send in supporting information. The date on my application is Nov 16th. I've also seen somewhere (but can't find it right now) that the date of application is defined as ...

I agree they could not finish processing my application until all my records were in, but they've stated that visas are issued in order of the date payment is made. I think other posts on this board have stated that too. So shouldn't that put me at the Nov 16th date when compared to others that paid ...

I'm also 'intrigued' by these postings, as my date should be Nov 16th (date of payment) and I haven't gotten mine either. yet according to this, others have. I must be holding my breath wrong!

I applied online and paid my fees on Nov. 16th. But I didn't get my documents to them until Dec 2 (witing on the last bank statement). I'm in PA, so filed in NY.

I am indeed looking at that page. Good to know that's not where to look, but still leaves me puzzled about why it's gone backwards. Oh well, lots of puzzles in this world? I've been looking at the forum you recommended but had to quit looking for my sanity. People applying after me were getting in ...

Where are they on Tier 1 out-of-country apps?

Prevously, the UKBA site posted that they were reviewing apps from on or before Nov 2nd during the week of Dec 20th. Now they've updated to say they will be reviewing apps from on or before Oct 26th during the week of Jan 3rd. They're going backwards...My app went in Nov. 16th, so I was hoping for a ...
