so this means if one came to london tomorrow and started working, and wanted to apply for settlement in 2017, for example, he would have to be making at least 24K at that time, yes? but after april of this year it would need to be 35?

What I don't understand is why they would advertise a visa that offers up to 5 years maximum guaranteed time in the UK. They might as well make it one year.
