When did you actually receive it? My approval letter was dated 12th October and I received it on 19th October. I rang the council straightaway and was told that they had not received the paperwork from UKBA and ring back the Monday (22nd October), which I did and was then able to book my ceremony ...

Thanks, I contacted them yesterday and they told me to ring back Monday, which I will do. I was just surprised as a lot of people seem to get a separate approval letter and then have to wait for the invitation and I just got the invitation straightaway. Corinna As far as I understood, separate ...

I am a little confused at the moment. I know that a few people have posted that they were waiting for their letter of invitation. I got this today, dated 12th October. Should I have got something else? The letter provides the contact details for my local council, a breakdown on the details that will ...

I got a letter today, too. My application for British citizenship has been approved. I need to ring back the council on Monday to book the ceremony. At the moment they are booking 7th November so all may work out yet.

Thanks to both of you.

They debited the fees three days after I applied and I had my acknowledgement letter exactly a week after I applied. I was so hoping for a 7th November citizenship ceremony as this is the only date both my guests could make.

EEA Citizens - How long did you wait for your approval?

I have to say patience is not my strongest skill. I applied 9 weeks ago, which I know is early days yet, but the majority of people in the August Club who applied after me got their brown envelope (although hardly anybody who applied in early August). I wonder if there are any EEA citizens that have ...
