Switching to HSMP is currently allowed in any category (excluding visit visa), but from Oct 1, 2004 switching to HSMP will be restricted to:- 1) Work permit holders; or 2) graduated students; or 3) working holidaymakers; or 4) postgraduate doctors or dentists or trainee general practitioners.
