HSMP JR - Citizenship form question

Hi again

On the citizenship application form they ask for the date you were given your ILR. Do you put the date on the ILR in your passport, or the one on the letter showing the backdated date?

Thanks guys

Form AN Question

Hi there I read recently in a news story (I think it was on the UKBA website) that on 6 April 2010 they would publish a new AN form. I have just checked (7 April) and the forms is still the one from Feb 2009. I will be applying at the end of this month, but would like to get my references sorted out ...

Thanks again. I agree, and this is what makes the whole test so irritating, most of the info would be very useful when you first arrive, like how to register for a GP, etc, but five years on it is a bit redundant. Except that you have to learn things in a particular way as it is set out in the book ...

Urgent - Confusing facts in life in the uk test book

Hi there I am about to take my test and there are some issues in the book that I am really confused about. First - on one page the UK is described as a Constitutional Monarchy, a Parliamentary Democracy and a Constitutional Democracy. Which is it (for purposes of the test)? Second - Should we take ...

SA Consulate URGENT Questions

Hi there My sister is about to renew her SA passport and she has a few questions. Hope someone can help really urgently. 1. The consular section has moved for refurbishment but they have not indicated if postal applications must still be sent to the Whitehall address. Anyone know if this is the case ...

I will let you know the outcome of my application. I think I may have to send in the application a second time. But I don't even mind that. I don't mind having to do the Life in the UK test. I am just so happy to be able to bring the end to this drama a little nearer. I was worried about the new ...

I have just sent in my documents for my second extension and paid my £750. I wonder if I will have to wait for my passport to come back and then re-apply for the ILR, or if they will just change the visa to ILR. It will be very interesting. I would hate to have to pay another visa fee now.

As far as I am aware there is no problem with the JR application as long as you initially entered the country under the terms as covered in the JR. If this is not the case then .....PANIC.... I will not be able to apply! About the P60 - I was working as a temp at a low salary for quite a while, so I ...

Thanks nksg. What did your employer put in the letter? I don't have utility bills as I am a lodger, but I do have a lodger contract. Not sure if I need to put that in though. Also, I asked this elsewhere, but haven't had a reply as yet. The number on my first extension letter that says "our ...

I fall under the JR ruling and so I am using form FLR Tier 1(HSMP) version 07/2008. I have included: - First approval letter for HSMP ...

The number on my first extension letter that says "our reference" does not appear anywhere on my visa, in fact my HSMP visa number doesn't appear anywhere on my visa. New passport, do I need new visa?

Hi all I applied for my new South African passport early because the turn-around time is usually 4 months. Well, mine took less than a month to arrive! So I now have my new passport and I have my visa (HSMP) in my old passport, which has Cancelled stamped in it. Do I need to get the visa transferred ...

Does anyone know what the current waiting time is for a new passport. My passport expires in May next year, but my HSMP visa expires in April, which will mean applying in March. I don't think the HO will give me my extension if my passport is only valid for a month. The earlies appointment I could ...

Thank you for the answers guys! I was hoping to do this by post, I believe SA House is a nightmare to get an appointment with and the phone call is SO expensive. Renewing South African Passport

Hi there Has anyone had experience renewing their South African passport in the UK? I need to do this as my passport expires in May 2009. I agree that they are dragging this out to make sure that as many of us as possible leave before anything is done, but the JR is much more important than that. The principle of retrospective changes is what is at stake. I saw on this board that they now want £800 in your bank account over the three ...
