Re: ILR Success (PEO Croydon): Tier 1(G) + WP + 1 Dependent

Hello 1. Payment form: In order to book the appointment you would have had to register and create an account online. If you log in to your account on the PEO appointment booking page (my account on top right hand side of page), you will be able to view (download and print) a pdf copy of the payment ...

I entered 4 years 11 months as the rule says you should apply no earlier than 28 days before your 5th anniversary.

Hi The rule is clear that you need to calculate your absences 5 years back from the date of your application. I initially had the same concern as yours i.e. that I was not in the country in Dec 08. However I was advised that this was fine and I don't need to count the period between that date (Dec ...

Hi 1. Just leave it blank. You only need to present the payment sheet you received when you paid for your appointment. 2. Kept it simple, just indicated either 'holiday' or 'business'. No need to provide any more details than that. 3. Counted absences backwards 5 years from date of application ...

ILR Success (PEO Croydon): Tier 1(G) + WP + 1 Dependent

Hello Firstly many thanks to all for your invaluable advice and contributions. My ILR was approved today @ Croydon PEO. Just thought I'd write in to contribute my experience which I hope will be of some help. My circumstances: Work Permit: Entry Clearance (9 January 09) Physically entered the UK (25 ...

Thanks Damanisshallo. I have provided a table summarising my absences for the 12 month period from the date of my application (13 December 2013). Year 1 is 13 December 2008 to 13 December 2009. 13 December 2008 is before my entry clearance date (9 Jan 2009). Can I disregard my absence between 13 Dec ...

Thanks Krisbal. I presume then that you entered the date you physically entered the UK. Quick follow up question, did you have to make it clear on the form or in person that you were applying on the basis of the 90 day concession rule? Thanks again.

Hi Krisbal

What did you put down as the date you first entered the UK in Section 6.1? Entry clearance date or physical entry date? Thanks

Eligibility for ILR and 90 day concession rule

I'm re-posting my query for clarification. May I please clarify for my sanity, as I am getting a lot conflicting advice i.e. when the 90 day concession rule applies. Some advise that the 90 day concession rule will only be applied if my leave was due to expire before I make my application. My ...

Congratulations. May I ask what date you entered in Section 6.1 i.e. date you first entered the UK? How did you explain that you were applying under the 90 day concession rule?

Many thanks

No not yet. I'm due to apply in month's time, but I have been researching this for some time and proceeded only once I was comfortable that it would be accepted. As I said a common mistake is to just focus on the SELT list without reading the other acceptable tests.

Further update for you. The list which everyone automatically consults i.e. the SELT list which lists exams accepted for immigration into the UK, only specifically mentions Grade 2 which is the minimum level required for a spouse visa. However, the list of exams accepted for ILR / Citizenship is a ...

I've spoken to Trinity College London and they have confirmed that the GESE Grade 5 test is definitely acceptable to the UKBA for settlement purposes. They claim that the UKBA document is not up to date.

Help with SET(O) question Section 6.1

Hello all and many thanks for the replies to my questions so far. I'm in the midst of filling in the SET(O) form. The question asks for the date I first entered the UK. I am tempted to take a literal interpretation of the question to mean physical entry however I am told that I can use the ...

English language requirement - Oct 2013

Hello fellow members. Hope to get your valuable input on the recent (proposed) English language requirements for those applying for settlement post October 2013. It is my understanding that those who have a degree taught in English would be exempt from the above requirement. My situation is slightly ...

Hi vinny and thanks. Having read through it it seems that the claimants were trying to apply for leave to remain under the now defunct Tier 1 (PSW) on the basis of ACCA being equivalent to a UK Master's degree, when immigration rules applicable to the Tier 1 (PSW) clearly stated that professional ...

ACCA not equivalent to 'taught Master's degree'

Hello all. I was recently made aware of a recent immigration case law (May 2013 i think) which ruled that the ACCA professional qualification is not equivalent to a 'taught Master's degree'. I am an ACCA qualified accountant and was awarded the full 35 points for my initial Tier 1 (G) visa - granted ...
