Re: Married Surname AN_01 form

When booking test they did look at passport but also her driving license which is in her married name, and used that as form of ID The reason I mention is you can't mix and match forms of ID, so if you used the driving license for the test, then I'm confused how that then can be used for your ...

Re: Married Surname AN_01 form

You will find several threads here about exactly this situation: foreign women who have been using their married names everywhere for years, and when they applied for their first passport, were turned down because their foreign passport is in their maiden name. There is a rule that requires every ...

Re: Married Surname AN_01 form

For 100% sure your wife will not be able to get her UK passport until she changes her foreign passport so it is in her married name. Everything else is probably OK, although I'm wondering how she was able to book english test in a different name if they use the passport as the form of ID?

Re: Relation with the Referees

I have applied for (and received) Naturalisation for myself, and Registration for my two children, and in both cases the referees were never consulted. However, when I subsequently applied for my children's passports, my referee (there is only one for passports) was sent a letter asking him to ...

Re: AN Form Updated - Urgent Help

What a shambles. Last night I got notification of this topic, and this morning I checked the gov.uk naturalisation page and downloaded a July 2016 Form AN. Now I've checked again this afternoon, and it's back to the January version. What is a person to do? I have a fully filled January form with my ...

Not for the non EEA partner it isn't! Almost six full months to the day. Also the amount of evidence required for self employed is vast and not clearly defined.

Re: Applied October 2015 - reject because of change in Novem

Proof of residency in UK is required as well as proof of exercising treaty rights. The NCS lady that took my application "explained" to me that anyone could have bills in their name being delivered to a UK address, but that earning income and paying tax was the only true way of proving you ...

Re: Applied October 2015 - reject because of change in Novem

It’s an interesting line of thinking. All those documents that you sent to prove your self-employment… How do they prove that you personally weren’t actually working from a laptop on a beach in Hawaii for most of the year? :) That's a really good point -- I never thought of it; the "I am a good pers ...

Hi kostasvl, I understand your frustration, my own experiences with the UK Home Office have been very stressful, but I am almost at the end now; I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Now... it seems pretty clear that you didn't provide satisfactory evidence of exercising treaty rights. The ...

Re: EEA Family Permit Cohabitation

The thing you are most worried about (the flat), is the thing that is 100% in your control. So sort that out! Go to the landlord and say that you will not be committing to a further six months as you don't know what your immediate future is. If they say "that's not my problem", then plan to leave on ...

Re: EEA Family Residence Card Appeal

My partner and I have spoken about it before, and in our minds, if we got married now it would be marred with the pressure of this application, which we think would be detrimental to our relationship. I wouldn't want to do that just to be able to stay in this country. Good on you -- I went through ...

Re: EEA (All forms) - Name discrepancy

I received citizenship, and went to apply for my first UK passport, and was denied because my country-of-birth passport has both my father's and my mother's surnames on it (even though literally not a single document in the UK has my mother's surname as I have never used it anywhere ever). Re: EEA Family Residence Card Appeal

I'm not saying it's right (you seem like a genuine person), but I can sort of see it from the HO's point of view. They asked for proof of cohabitation (since you aren't married), and you didn't provide it. Where do they draw the line? "They seem like nice people, let's give it to them". In all my ...

I think you have to assume the worst. All the changes in immigration law in the past 5+ years have been aggressively anti-immigration, so why would that get better post Brexit?

Re: Does citizenship certificate count as proof of PR?

With respect, I don't think that's right. I am still an EEA citizen, and she is applying for PR as a result of the 6 years she has spent married to an EEA citizen.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
