Can I employ an employee who is one of the shareholder in the company to fulfill the hiring requirement?

Thanks.

Nothing in the rules stop you from doing so. Some companies offer share options to their employees. As long as the person you are hiring is a UK or EEA national, you should be fine

Hi,

What if the employee I am hiring holds 50% of the share in the company?

Thanks.

Wouldn't that make the 'employee' a 'partner' then?

Maybe if you explained more about your situation you will get more constructive advice.

Thank you @CR001 for replying my question. Yes, I am happy to explain more.

I have hired a full time administration assistant since year 2014. She is a close family member to the company's owner now, and holds half of the company shares by private arrangement. I do not think this makes her a 'partner'.

Hope this is clear, and your help/constructive advice is much appreciated!
My question is:
'Can I claim points of hiring an employee, who holds a 50% shares of the company?'
