Home Office's new service standards: reality or rhetoric??

Dear all,

I've just joined here.

As you all know, the HO announced their new service standards whereby Tier 1 Entrepreneur applications from January 2014 would be decided within 8 weeks, if not, applicants would be informed about the next steps.

Applications made in the first week of January 2014 have already exceeded 8 weeks. It'd be really appreciable if we put the updates and see if the HO is following their own service standards.

My application details:

Applied on 10 January 2014
Biometric 27 January 2014
£50K Venture Capital fund (Switching from tier 4)
Applied through lawyer.

Biometrics ,acknowledgment and 8 weeks letter on the 22 of February

Am looking at options to switch from T4 to T1 Ent.

Could you explain about the venture capital funds ? How did you go about approaching a venture capital firm and any examples of such a firm ?

I have spoken to a friend in London who works in banking to find such a firm for my brother and cousin's cases as well. I will update on the forum if I find one! I am hoping to hear from him soon.

Hi everyone,
I applied on 13th of January 2014
Got the biometric and acknowledgement and 8weeks letter togather on 16th of January.
I have done my biometric on 22nd of January, , after that still no result. They have promised they will let me know within 8 weeks but its been nearly 12 weeks gone..
Please everyone let me know if anybody got any information from home office
