IHS paid £400!

Post by ehsandoost » Sat Jun 25, 2016 7:54 pm

I have applied for tier 1 extension on 03/05/16 and I have paid £400 for IHS, I have read in this forum that you should pay £600 and then HO will refund you £200. I chose a wrong category to pay IHS. Is this gonna be a problem?

Thanks,

Did you receive a biometric enrolment letter? If so, then I imagine that your IHS payment was accepted as biometric enrolment letters are only sent if an application is valid.

A biometric letter is sent at the first stage of processing and is no indication as to whether the application will be approved or not. If you have underpaid the NHS surcharge you should be contacted and asked to pay the balance.

I have not underpaid the IHS in fact I paid the correct amount which is £400 but in this forum I see some people paid £600 then HO refunds them £200. As I didn't want to do that I chose a wrong category but the correct amount. Does that make sense?

The amount you paid is correct which is £200 per year. People are forced to pay £600 as that is the only option for entrepreneurs online and then you get a refund of £200 later (extension only) Hopefully you will face no issues
