Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Team Application Joint Funds

Hi all

I got some questions and I would really appreciate if someone can clarify me.
1. My brother and his friend is applying for Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Team application. My brother is based in Pakistan and his friend is based in UAE.
They have following options to show Investment funds:
a. My brother arrange 100K in Pakistani bank account and his friend arrange 100K in his UAE bank? Or
b. They both open a new joint account and arrange 200K in joint account?

Q1: Which of above option is preferable?
Q2: How much they have to show in joint account £200K or £400K because I heard somewhere that in joint account value becomes half?
