urgent help needed for entrepreneur visa ext interview

Please do not make the source of funds matter complicated,
More concentration on expenditure breakdown and employee gross pay each years and how contracts comes on board

It is very important to keep your business matter effectively

but think "source of funds" is the first question, and I want to answer all questions properly, do not want to cast any doubts.

I know all about my business, bcoz I genuinely run sin putting almost 20 hrs a day. I am concerned about source of funds, as I got the money from friends/family in the UK and in the initial application, I mentioned I was going to get it from overseas.

so wonder how I should answer it ?

When is your interview?

n8net, That should not be a concern. There can be always a change in the plan. It is not necessary that initial sponsor only should invest.

n8net, I don't know what they expect. But I answered the same

What will do if business fails
Applicant should need to prepare for this answer because one can not leave businesses or uk if invest 50 or 200k if they have plan B
Plan B is what other options applicant have any new business idea or move to another business or take over other business merge or shares
So it is not good option to leave uk it is not authentic answer

Briefly, I would say:

Business Contingency:

Knows your future forecasts for sales/profit in coming years and where you see your business. Having business growth ideas even possible partnerships with another business. Having clear idea of another business as part of Plan B if your current business completely fails. Know and have source of funds to deal with crisis in current business and/or to implement Plan B which is to start new business altogether.

Emphasis should be on success of current business to show faith on your current business plan and business itself.

Competitive edge/advantage:

Knowing your competitors and their business strategy as much you can, offering value for money, good quality products, personalized service to your customers to retain them, Feedback from customers, After care....

Market Strategy/Research:
This needs to be specific to each individual business. There are lots of idea/examples on this if you google.

Guys had my interview today, I was grilled for 1.30hrs, all my questions are framed around my clients and payments I received from them

I am on 50K route and company running on profits

Name & dob
Company name & full address
My experience in current field and business experience
Me and my partner roles in the business
Why my company partner did not apply for extension (Partner is UK Citizen)
Why have I received £XX amount from YYYY client in one month
** Company in profits
How much have I received from each client to get that turnover (this year till April)
How did I approach those clients to get the contracts (this year till April)
Top clients causing my revenue (this year till April)
Asked me to explain a service that I provide (from my website) (this year till April)
How much have I spent on administrative process (this yr till april – they got the amount from accounts I submitted)
Complete breakdown of that administrative expenses
How much have I received from each client to get that turnover (last financial year)
How did I approach those clients to get the contracts (last financial year)
Top clients causing my revenue (last financial year)
Asked me to explain a service that I provide (from my website) (last financial year)
How much have I spent on advertising
Where did I advertise
How much have I invested

Complete breakdown where I spent my investment (asked me to give figures )

Received an email calling for an interview on 3rd of September at Harrow VFS - London, does anyone had interview at that location and are we allowed to carry any notes with us inside for interview ??
And
Then the next post was your interview will be on 2nd September which is tomorrow not today.
Please could you verify.

did you joined an existing business or started a new business with ur partner as u said he has been in business since 2006.

I joined existing business as director in 2013 .

Interview completed today in Battleship building in London (no parking on site), it was good one. Questions were same as previously reported by others members here so please go through those and ensure you know your business really well and you are confident to represent it. Interview duration was about 45 minutes. One thing to note is that they are not looking for long, descriptive answers, they just want couple of sentences, key points. People interviewing you are not business educated and just doing it for the sake of the job. Your interview notes will go to case worker and he will review and decide so ensure you can answer to the point and precisely.

There was no interrogation, people interviewing had question paper in hand, they were merely sticking to those questions. Questions were prepared by case worker.

Questions were like:

How much were you sales?
What was job title of X employee and their hours?
What is your marketing strategy?
Source of funds?
What is your previous experience?
Where did you spend your funds?
Address and website of business?


And so on, just what has been reported already on this forum.


Experience and questions may vary depending on individual cases but I still do not think they will come hard at you as this is not case worker who is interviewing you but third party, they don't know your case/business, most of the time just ordinary people doing their job.

There should not be any fear and hesitation to face them as they are just taking your answers. Know your business, familiarize with paper work that you submitted and memorize certain figures such as sales, gross profit, expenses, employees related details.

It was video link interview, you will be asked question, you answer and they type, no pressure, no real eye to eye contact, just tick box exercise.

Keep calm, speak slow, as it is highly important that they are able to type key words of your answers and this is what case workers will look at to establish genuineness.


Questions on this forum has already been shared several times by others, sharing interview experience, how it is conducted, what you should be doing was lacking so hopefully this make it easier for future applicants.

I am bit nervous always for interviews, given this is HO with life changing consequences extra nervous and want to be thorough...

we have questions, but not answers for some generic questions, I have created a new topic to have answers as well, it will be useful to for myself and any future applicants, if answers can be provided.

there is no restriction carrying phones inside but its better to ask the interviewer if it is ok to record , few may restrict.

The person who interviewed me is so friendly and I am sure the rest are the same, nervous makes the situation more worse so be confident and I am sure you can answer, 80% questions are same but 20% depends on your case and case worker.

I was allowed to carry my little notes inside and they even allowed me even to calculate the figures if I am not sure.

Not a single question was asked about my tax figures and stuff , it depends on your case mostly.

Thank you for positive remarks. It would certainly clear things up once we hear from those who were interviewed in April, May, June, July time and greatly help others to get an idea how long they should wait. Anyone got better ideas, there is always room for improvement, please jump in.
