28 days documents for dependent visa

What is the rule for 28 days documents for dependent visa e.g. employment letter, bank statements and payslips? my wife is applying from outside UK.

I heard that application will be refused if any document will be more than 28 days old.

30 days rule is for maintenance bank statement that shouldn't be 30 days old.
