Do we require Indian passport for new born baby(born in UK)?

Hello,

I am om HSMP/Tier 1 visa..
We had a baby born in UK 2 weeks back.

I am eligible for ILR in 2016..

My question is :
1)Does the baby born in UK require Indian passport?We don't intend to travel till 2016 (as baby cannot get dependent visa)..

So is Indian PP really required?

2)for Indian PP, is it a 2 step process?
a)Get birth registered as India
b)Get Indian PP

Any help will be appreciated

Why do you say the baby cannot get a dependent visa??? The baby is not British so of course you can apply for a dependent visa.

If you don't have travel plans, you can leave the visa and once you have been granted ILR, apply to register the child as British on form MN1 and once that is processed and approved and you receive the certificate, then apply for a British Passport. This process can take upto 6 months when you do it.
