Ex-Overstayer need to write UKBA to remove (320B)

Hi
i overstayed my visa (overstay 1 year) in past but at end i left UK volunteer on my own expenses.

Could you please tell me do i need to write UKBA or local BHC to ask about period of my ban.

it should be one year ban by UK laws but i want it to clear by UKBA on a paper.

Is there any form or address please guide.
