Maintenance Funds - can we show funds in India Bank account?

Post by kanjava » Fri Sep 04, 2009 5:19 pm

Hello All,
I am an in-country applicant, applying for self, spouse and child.

I am currently in UK for less than 6 months.

I need to show £(800+1600+1600) = £4000 as my maintenance fund.

However, I dont have this entire amount in UK bank account for the last 3 months.

Can I show some for e.g., £1000 in UK bank account and £3000 in India (ICICI-Savings) account?

Please help. Thanks,
K

Yes, you can do that but please make sure you explain this very clearly in the cover letter so that it is easy for the caseworker to understand

Just make sure that:

1. the minimum required Maintenance funds for 3 of you is maintained above that level everyday and never fell below that level even by 1pence or 1paisa.. (please take care of the exchange rate thing..)

2. You can show the maintenance funds in 1 or more accounts but your name should be on that account (though dependents can show maintenance funds with accounts in their name also);

3. Make sure that funds are maintained for the required 3months not even 1day less.. more is better...

Hello All,
I am an in-country Tier1(switching) applicant, applying for self and spouse at the same time.

I am currently in UK for less than 12 months.

I need to show 800 GBP+1600 GBP as maintenance fund.

I want to show maintenance funds from two bank accounts for period 01/04/2010 to 31/07/2010, both accounts are on my name.

I have balances as follows.

Acct 1
-------

01/04/2010 to 14/04/2010 2400 GBP

15/04/2010 to 19/04/2010 2330 GBP

20/04/2010 to 27/04/2010 2500 GBP

Acct 2
-------

01/04/2010 to 19/04/2010 91 GBP

27/04/2010 to 31/07/2010 3725 GBP

On 27/04/2010 closing balance in acct-1 = 2500 GBP
On the same date i.e. 27/04/2010 closing balance in acct-2 = 3725 GBP

In the above scenario, can I club both accounts and show that at all times in 3 months period claimed, maintainance is >= 2400 GBP.

Please let me know if any one can think of any problem here.

Many Thanks in advance
