I have a similar timeline situation and If I apply ad get a 2 years extension then I would be short by 4 months (considering 28 days early application for ILR) I also need some suggestion to shorten the gap. Senior members advise please. I need some advise to get a gap as much as possible between applying for Tier 1 extension date and date of granting the next extension. Is it possible to have a duration of 4 months or more in between by any chance.sorento wrote:Worrying about this!
I got my T1 General right before 6 April 2010 where the old rules were applied and got my first extension in April 2013 for two years (due to expire in 2015). However as my time outside UK was more than 180 days before 2013 that I need to apply for a second extension in April 2015.
As I am on the old leg of T1 G where the rules by 6 April 2010 were applied that my second extension will likely to be another 2 years (exp 2017) rahter than 3 years (exp 2018) which means I have 1 year short fall for ILR in 2018.
As T1 G ext will no longer be available after April 2015 that if I can get a 3 year on my second extension, that will be fine for ILR. In this case, is it possible to do it? Or can use the new rules after 6 April 2010 on my second extension so as to get a 3 year visa?
What can I do to tackle this issue?
Many thanks dear for your kind advice. I could not understand the second part "I believe ILR processing time is more than extension . That could cover your qualifying period. ". Can you please guide me as I think I need to show 5 years from the date I will make the application and delay in processing ILR can not help me but delay in Tier 1 will help. Please advise me again. then again make postal application for ILR just before visa expiry. I believe ILR processing time is more than extension . That could cover your qualifying period.
I know not the ideal solution but it could work out for you.
