Tier-1 (G) Extensions and ILR last dates

Post by nsm2010 » Sat Apr 19, 2014 8:14 am

"Please note that Tier 1 (General) extension applications will no longer be accepted from
6 April 2015. Tier 1 (General) indefinite leave to remain applications will no longer be accepted
from 6 April 2018."

With reference to the above mentioned note on the guidance notes on Tier-1 (G), Kindly someone clarify that what will happen after 06 April 2015 (if someone wants to extend their stay in the UK) and after 06 April 2018 (if someone wants to submit their ILR under Tier-1 (G))....

What would be the substitute? How someone under Tier-1 (G) could plan their stay in the UK and finally settlement???

I would appreciate any clarifications from learned members.

no substitute

you can plan by makjng use of this category prior to these dates to get settlement, or change to other visa category

Thank you Sagareva for you reply.

What other categories could be the option??giving the same liberties as offered by Tier-1(G).

I would further appreciate if someone could guide me with this query as well;

Can Tier-1 (G) dependant switch to Tier-1 (E) while remain in the UK? What would be the process? how long will it take?

Hi,

Hope you all can help me.

I came to UK on Tier2 ICT and then migrated to Tier1 General. Got an extension for 3 years however this one was a overlapping one for 37 days. Below are the dates.

Tier2 ICT – applied on 24th Sep 2010 – Got Visa on 29/09/2010
Travelled to UK on – 09th Oct 2010
Applied to Tier1(General) on 30th April 2011.
Got visa valid from 07/06/2011 till 07/06/2013.
Applied for extension in April 2013 ..got visa valid (current one) from 30/04/2013 to 30/04/2016.

I only travelled outside UK for holidays less than 90 Days (I guess 180 days is the max total with in 5 years).

Now that Tier1 Extensions will be closed in April 2015 and I wont finish my 5 years till June 2016 (if Tier2 ICT is not considered).

Questions

1) Is my Tier2 ICT period considered for ILR?
2) If not do I need to go for another extension before April 2015? If so its well before an year on my current visa validity? Is this allowed?
3) If No extension (I Wish) is required am I able to apply for ILR on or after April 2016?

Please can anyone advice.

pksiva,

You shouldnt have rushed and applied that soon for ur 1st extension, i think u will have to go for a early extension in April2015 to cover your 10days short, in theory you canapply for ILR after 09/05/2016.
