Tier 1 (General) Extension Approved

Post by Devil81 » Mon Nov 24, 2014 4:23 pm

Hi chaps,

My second Tier1 (general) extension was approved last week in Croydon. Below is my experience with Croydon PEO.

1. Current vignette HSMP / Tier 1 : Tier 1 (General)
2. Date of PEO Appointment : 21/11/2014
3. Date of expiry of current leave (visa) : 16/08/2015
4. Date of expiry of the new visa : Awaiting BRP
5. Payment mode : Card
6. Name of PEO Applied : Croydon

I had an appointment booked for me & my wife for 10.25am in Croydon PEO. Security allowed us in by 10ish. Seated in the reception for 10mins & then went through the security check and were asked to go to level 4 for Tier1 extensions. Payment sheet, passports and application forms were reviewed and given a token number. Token number was called and we were handed over to the Indian lady who verified our old & new passports, photographs, application forms and did a criminal record check on her system. Everything went smoothly and she handed over all the documents and we were told to wait for the biometrics.
Token number was called, had the biometrics done and submitted all the original docs. We were then told to wait in the cafetaria for 90mins. Case progress was updated on the screens placed all across the PEO. After a long wait of approximately 90mins, token no. was called and they handed over all the original documents to me and the extension was approved.

I am currently working as a Director of Ltd company. Following documents were submitted along with the application:

1. Cover Letter explaining my status as Tier 1 (General) applicant and documents submitted for Qualification, Earnings, UK
experience, English language and Maintenance funds. This was retained by HO.
2. Under Earnings following docs were submitted for review
i) Accountant letter and Income summary explaining my status and earnings in the company. This was retained by HO.
ii) Payslips
iii) Dividend vouchers
iv) Personal bank stats.
v) Business bank stats.
vi) Agency Invoices
vii) Agency contract
viii) Company Accounts
ix) VAT Certificate
x) Company Incorporation Cert.
xi) P60 (optional)
xii) Summary of VAT returns, PAYE & NI contributons and Corporation Tax paid (optional).

Along with the originals I had a set of copies as well just in case they need it. I got all my originals back except the ones i have mentioned above.
I am awaiting BRP & hopefully will get extension for 3yrs which should see my ILR due in 1.5yrs.

Thanks for all the timely replies, responses, and support. Any queries just yell.

Will prepare for another battle in a years time

Hi there,
Did they not tell you the duration your visa was extended for? Did they ask any question to assess how much time if left for your ILR?
Just trying to figure out, how the applications are getting processed under new rules.

Hi iubus2005,

All they provide you is a 3 page approval letter stating your approval and the points scored.
Last time when I went for extension I did ask them about the duration but they weren't bothered to answer. All they said is it will be stated on your BRP.
I knew the rules so I wasn't bothered to ask this time.

Lets wait and watch.
Not sure how the new rules would work. It will be very diffucult for the case worker to determine the period required for ILR as it varies for each applicant.

Thanks

Hi iffi786

My first EC was after 6th April 2011. So it's 2+3+3 in my case.

It should be 3yrs in your case if it was after 6th April 2011.

Thanks

Hi!

Can you tell me what is the exact name of the merchant that came up on your bank statement?

I want to call my credit card provider and tell them to not block it when I apply. They ask for a merchant name.

Maybe something like "UKBA" or "UK Border Agency" or "Home office"?
