Are you employed or self employed? If you're self employed then I think they'll ask ques about your self employment.

I am self-employed now. However earnings I showed for this extension is from permanent job with period from Oct2013 till Jul 2014.
I didn't mention anything about self employment considering for earnings I provided salary slips, bank statements and employer letter.

In this forum you will find a few people who are self employed + employed and got interview call. I haven't come across anyone who is full time employed and got interview call. It seems a bit strange that you are called in for interview. Did you apply in July and got interview call after 7 months?

I think that could be the reason. I applied in Jan and didn't want to complicate the things with permanent+ self employment income.
As we can use any 12 months income from last 15 months, I used period oct-13 till jul-14, (10 months income from 15th month the date of application).

I'm assuming you're showing income starting from 1st October to 31st July 2014. By my calculation if you've applied within 31st Dec 2014 only then Oct 2013's income would've fallen within the 15 month period. As you applied in Jan 2015, Oct 2013's income cannot be included as it's the 16th Month if you calculate backwards. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I also have a similar opinion for applying in Jan 15 the fifteen months starts Nov13 to Oct14 (12 months) and then Nov14, Dec14, Jan15 (3 months) = 15 months

Thanks.
Could be this issue, they didn't mention any reason for interview call.

I applied on 22Jan and considering calendar months it comes out from
22Oct 2013 -- 21Oct 2014 (12 months)
22Oct 2014 -- 21 Jan 2015 (3 months)
I included dates from 31-Oct-2013 till 31-Jul-2014.

Also even they exclude Oct-2013 income, I meet the requirements.

Any clues about timelines, as when can I expect the interviews details (time and place) and post interview how much time will it take.

I reckon the interview is for 'Genuine Earnings Test' but I still don't see why it'd be applicable in your case as your incomes are all from employment. Can you think of anything which could cast doubt on your earnings? Might be from a previous application as you might have shown self-employment income before?

I also got an interview call on 11 Feb.
My case is also straight forward. I am a contractor, with limited company and business account.

I showed income from 1st Nov 2013 to 31st Oct 2014 and applied on 11th Jan 2015. The income showed was salary plus dividends.

Only things to be noted is that it's 2nd extension and this time i have shown 51.5K , last time I showed 56K. But since my requirement was 50K+, so I decided to show 50K this time.

I have submitted following documents:
salary slips,
dividend vouchers,
Personal bank account statements
Business account statements
Accountant Letter
Invoices

And I got the visa approved last time with same set of papers, but got interview call this time. It's so frustrating.

It'd be great if the experts in here could share their opinions about this.

I need to submit my ILR application in next few weeks. Also many more applicant will be applying for their extension in forthcoming weeks as the closing date is approaching soon.

If we need to attend an interview we need to know what kind of info HO wants from us. So we can collect them beforehand and provide them correctly.

Experts please share your opinions.

Hi,
I received letter today to attend interview on 26-Feb at London VFS office.
Strange, not been asked for any of the Visa processing centers.
Is this general norm?
Most of the threads I read, people attended interview in Sheffield/Crydon etc.

I got the interview call today (no time and location still) and my case seems to be very simple (to me atleast) - From day 1 of coming to UK I am in the same company and I am a permanent employee. The company is a 100+ billion dollar company.

And I have submitted latest payslips and latest bank statements. I have no idea why I have been called to the interview. I am just afraid I have done something incredibly stupid to create suspicion in the case worker.

Anyways please update your results of the interview. All the best.

By the way, did the interview letter say anything about whats wrong with the application ?

Hi,

I too have an interview on 26th Feb at London VAC. I am director of a limited company with earning (salary + Dividend) shown from Jan14 to Dec14. I was giving salary to my wife from Jan14 to May14, and then my wife returned the salary for April and May, as it was too close to affect my earnings.
Is it illegal to give salary to spouse and then return it to the company? I think it is because of this they have asked for interview, no other reason I can think of. I had submitted the Management accounts too

Hi Don't make assumptions. But get an experienced accountant to advise you a suitable reason to you so you can respond in case if they ask. Don't get panic and hopefully things will be fine. It might be just a routine check.

Hi Pravin,

I hope you attended the interview and everything went well...!!!

Can you please share with us how was the interview and what were the questions you faced, anything related to your income/early extension.

I am also self employed (salary + dividends) for the last 4 years, my current visa expiry on 1st Sept 2015, applied for 2nd extentsion on 2nd feb 2015.

Appreciate your early reply.

Thank you in advance...

Hi,
Yes I attended interview. It lasted only 15 minutes, not sure in which direction it will result.
Questions were
[] Current Visa status
[1] Current employment status
[2] education
[3] Is your work related to your education
[4] Current job details, whether you self employed or employed
[5] Current annual income, business office location, monthly expenses for business, no of employees
[6] last 12 months income

last 12 months income was bouncy for me as in my application I had shown only permanent job income that ended in Jul2014.
I made it clear that I am not showing my last 12 months in come in this application but they were keen on only knowing the last 12 months income. I roughly calculated and stated that.
Hope it works out well.

Best of of luck to you.

Hi Pravin,

Do we need to take any business documents for interview ? I am planning to take last year business statements, invoices, company returns, company registration, VAT receipts etc.

I am still waiting for my interview details. is there any particular areas we need to prepare ?

Can we change the location or date of interview ? or is it the only date we need to attend ?

Please let me know.

Hi mywork19,

I just received the first letter, stating that I will be called for interview, today.
Have you been interviewed yet? or Have you received the invitational letter & does it states the reason for this call? Any further document that they might have asked?

I am also working through Ltd company since almost 4 years and got my first extension showing income from my limited company only.
