Tier 1 Renewal Visa and ILR

Post by arnabkundu » Tue Aug 05, 2014 8:42 pm

Hi
I got my Tier 1 Visa in Jan 2011 but only arrived in the UK in Dec 2011. I got my Tier 1 visa renewed in Dec 2012 for 3 years and they now expire in Jan 2016. However as per the new UKBA rules the last date of extension is Apr 2015 which means I have to get my visa renewed once more before Apr 2015 as I do not qualify of ILR. I have the following questions

1. When do I qualify for applying for ILR. Is it December 2016?
2. If I were to renew my Tier 1 Visa would they be issuing it for another 3 or 2 years? I got it for 2 and extended it for 3.
3. I also have 2 dependents whose visa also expire in Jan 2016. Is it possible for me to apply and get my visa renewed first (using same day appointment) and once it is approved then apply for extension for my dependents?
4. Based on the response for Point 3 , can I apply for renewal for my dependents after Apr 2015 (if I have got the extension beforehand)
5. To book a same day appointment - how many months in advance can we book.

Thanks
Arnab

Hi Amber,
Can you please reply on below queries as well ?
