UK Born Baby

Post by silentwhisper » Wed Jul 30, 2014 2:31 pm

My baby was born here few months back and because of visa fees which is £1700 as a Tier1 (general) dependant. Therefore I am planning to go back home and apply from there as there visa fees is half and they will stay there for 5-6 months.

My concern is that would it be still possible for baby to get naturalization when I received my ILR or he has to go through that lengthy process as a dependant.

OR its better to get the visa from here.

It is different than a dependent/Tier-1 route for a UK born baby.
Once any of parent gets ILR, a UK born baby can apply for citizenship directly (no continuous residence rule applies either).

Same situation like your. Wife on maternity and flying to India. Baby to get dependent visa from India before return.
