UK Dependent visa for US citizen married to Indian

Post by abhitom » Wed Aug 27, 2014 10:23 am

Hi All,
I got married to an Indian American girl who has US citizenship but currently resides in India as PIO.
We have legally registered marriage in India.
She is currently with me in UK since as tourist she can visit me without visa.
My question is will there be any issues in applying for dependent visa for her from India.
For the purpose of applying dependent visa she will go back to India.
Or do I need to do something special in this case.

Please do share any advice or similar experience.

Assuming you are on your Tier 1 visa, it appears straightforward that she can apply for a dependent visa from a vfs office in india.

However she will be submitting her American passport and PIO card to the vfs office in India. Just login to the vfs website and start filling up the application form and check if it accepta an American citizen to submit an application.
Cheers,

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes I am a TIER 1 General Visa holder.
I checked online on VFS site and its possible to submit the application with American passport from India.
This looks like a straight forward case. :D
