Hi sssmm,

Congratulations. In your last post you said that you received a letter from HO saying your decision will take more time as compared to 8 weeks because they are waiting for a response from another government department or agency to verify a document or information given to them.

How long did it take you after that to recieve your documents and approvals. Please update I have also received the same letter.

Awaiting for your reply

Just to let you know, for those who are switching from Tier 4 category. My friend received his approval Documents today after 4.5months of waiting. It is a long wait isn't it? Hope we will get quicker than this. Many thanks.

Hi Tukadevi,
Congrats for your friend . Much appreciated your efforts in this forum.I have received letter from UkBa which states that your case couldn't complete within 8 weeks due to some complex issues. We are working hard to give decision ASAP. Can you please ask your friend did He/she received such type of letter from them before approval? Thanks

Hi Asif,

Thank you for letting us know about the letter. Did you ask with them or did they send you? My friend did not get one. After how many weeks of the application did you get it? Myself is now 8 weeks running and i Havent got one. Do you think I neeed to chase therm up? Many thanks!!

Tukadevi
Hi,
I got my letter after 11 weeks. It's useless to chase them as whenever we call them they just say your application is in process, nothing else. Unless you write to them through lawyer then they can update you properly what I think. They just send me the letter becoz 8 weeks has already passed. You can wait till 10 weeks then contact them again. Tier 4 switch is really delaying these days.

Regards

Hi Guys!

I was hoping you could help:

I posted my application on 30/09..Now is 06/10 and I still haven't received any receipt of the documents being received by the HO.
My application was made online, I paid as soon as I completed the application (19/09), and I mailed all the supporting documents to the PO box 3468 in Sheffield.
I am starting to get very worried.

How long does it take for them to pick the stuff up?
I did it Special Delivery, and the 'item is awaiting collection/delivery'.

PLEASE HELP :((((

Hello,

I want to use the Online application for extending Tier 2(General) with the same employer. I have one dependent - my wife, who has joined me last year after our wedding. She arrived an a dependent VISA of mine (under Tier 2 (General) as well) and now will put an extension application at the same time, as me.

I have only one question on the online form which I don't know how to answer. Under 'Dependent' tab, there is a question : 'Has this dependent lived with you for the last 5 years (or from birth, if they are less than 5 years old)?'

My wife became my wife only less than 2 years ago, and therefore she was not residing with me before last year. If I say 'NO' to the above question it then asks another question where it expects me to provide a previous UK address and move in and move out dates.
I have tried entering her home address in India, but it wouldn't accept that. Unless, I should say 'YES' on the basis that my wife, as my dependent' is less than 5 years old- sounds incredibly wrong.

What have people done to address this?

Hi Guys,

I have submitted my passport and documents for Tier 2 - ICT on August 22nd in chennai VFS office. i have received a mail on september 12th that the application is not straight forward and takes more time to give a decision. After that I haven't received any update or anything.

what may be the reason behind this delay? its almost 1 and half month since the submission and biometrics.

Hello I been through very depressing period of my life but got the T2 General visa in the end: Thanks to Almightly Allah

Before i put my time line please see the backgroud issues before my visa application.
  1. Company acquired by another company 6 months before my T2 General visa expiry.
  2. New company applied to home office to update their existing T2 General licence (tranfer my CoS to New company).
  3. 4 days before my visa expiry home office approved the tranfer.
  4. Unfortunately there was no CoS allocation in the licence. To apply in time, I had no other choice but to send my application without CoS with cover letter as suggested by respect full forum members (manci and Frontier Mole)
  5. Home office approved the CoS allocation 4 days after I sent my application.
  6. The company Assigned me a CoS on 4th of September (4 days after my visa expiry) and i sent CoS number to home office same day via special delivery on MCC (migrant change of circumtances) form.
Now see the usual timeline
  1. Type of application: Tier 2 General Extension
  2. If switching, category changing (switching) from: N/A
  3. Date of expiry of current leave: 01/09/2014
  4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 2
  5. Date application posted: 29/08/2014
without CoS number and with cover letter explaining company take over mentioning that CoS will be sent once it is available
  6. Date application received at UKBA: 30/08/2014
  7. Issue with Payment: 02/09/2014.
Payment declined due to relevant category being blocked (Cat.18 - Statutory Bodies) on company's Credit Card
  8. Removed limit and called home office helpline, they said application might be rejected as invalid, wait for letter. 03/09/2014
  9. New method of Payment request letter from Home office: 18/09/2014
  10. Sent same payment details again to home office: 19/09/2014 also faxed details to the number mentioned on the letter.
  11. Issue with Payment once again: Payment declined due to transaction limit on company's Credit Card: 06/10/2014.
This time home office tried to take payment of £1803 in single transaction rather than 3 transactions of £601 seprately as they did previously. transaction limit was £1300 home office tried £1803
  12. Increased the transaction limit to £2000: 06/10/2014
I called home office helpline again, they said application will be rejected as invalid, wait for letter, this time the guy said to me I can try sending a letter to retry the pament in 3 transactions.
  13. New method of Payment request letter from Home office: 18/10/2014
  14. Date payment debited: 20/10/2014
  15. Payment mode : Credit Card
  16. Acknowledgement letter received:
  17. Biometric letter received: 24/10/2014
  18. Date of biometrics enrolment: 27/10/2014

rky wrote:Hi Guys,

I have submitted my passport and documents for Tier 2 - ICT on August 22nd in chennai VFS office. i have received a mail on september 12th that the application is not straight forward and takes more time to give a decision. After that I haven't received any update or anything.

what may be the reason behind this delay? its almost 1 and half month since the submission and biometrics.

Hi RKY,

Please let us know what was the outcome on your application...

My husband has applied for his Tier2 ICT visa on November 06th from Chennai VFS and we are waiting...

Has anybody else applied during the same window from Chennai? Please share your experiences.
