Hi there,

Passport and other documents return, does that come via normal post or the DX delivery like bio-metric card?

It's been 2 weeks since I have gone for biometric but have not received anything yet.

Thanks,
Swet

Hi,

I have 2 quick question;

1. I posted Tier 2 Application on May 7th, switching from Tier 2 ICT. Once we received acknowledgement and BRP letter, does it mean the application approved and only waiting for return documents, OR is it still under consideration and may got rejected?

2. Anyone applied for more than 3 years Tier 2G visa? I applied for 5 years under April 2014 new rule. Will the decision take longer time?

Thank you.

Hi Wh0ru, was it priority post or normal service? It seems that your application was very quick and smooth. Did you apply by yourself or via solicitor? Did your ack letter come in the same envelope with biometric invitation? I have received ack letter, yet still waiting for BRP letter to go to post office. Many thanks.

call Home Office on 08706067766 and ask them that you haven't received Biometrics letter.
they should be able to tell you if it's been posted or still pending.

Hey null1639,

I did it myself with help from my new CEO. Yes it went w/o any problem and could have been faster if there weren't multiple Bank Holidays in between. You don't need Solicitor (unless you don't want to read supplied documentation and go through this board). Yes my Acknowledgement letter and BRP letter were in same cover.

Cheers.

It's been almost 4 months since I applied but haven't received a decision yet. I've been calling the UKBA contact centre every few days to check the progress but all they say is that I need to wait. Has anyone else had to wait so long? 2 days back I requested my documents to be returned since I need to travel quite urgently. On the website it says that i should receive my documents within 10 to 20 working days but seeing the timelines for my visa application I don't trust them at all now. Does anyone have any experience with receiving documents (including passport) after requesting return of documents? It's been so frustrating that I'm on the verge of withdrawing my application and just want my passport back.
Any feedback would help if someone's sailing in the same boat as me! :?:

Hi kxip, I am in the same boat as you. Although I posted my application only few weeks back (May 7th). I received acknowledgment letter on May 14th and not yet receive biometric letter up to now (May 21st). I must travel urgently on June 5th and unable to reschedule. If you request for return document, will they refund your cost? I applied through solicitor so I hope they can help. I tried to call UKVI yet all they can say is wait few more weeks! They are very silly for failing to put priority on genuine workers!!

Hi Null1689

I am also in Tier 2 ICT visa (before april 2011) and trying to switch to tier 2 G. But it seems they have recently (apr 2014, refer the link below) changed rule that the 6 year limit for Tier 2 G includes the time we spent on Tier 2 ICT as well? as per the link, we can not apply for 5 years Tier 2 G visa? did you check this with solicitors when you applied?

Does it matter to fill the Tier 2 online application in capital letter or normal case is fine?

Thanks.

Hi null,
I had received my biometrics letter along with the acknowledgement letter, so that's a bit strange why you havent received it yet.
Once you've applied they wont refund the visa fees, unfortunately.
Last time i called UKVI, i got a bit more of an update instead of "keep waiting". Apparently there's been an issue with ETS TOEFL and i had given my TOEFL scorecard as proof of the english language requirements. Hence i've been told that all cases involving ETS TOEFL have been put on hold/suspended until a decision is reached. So atleast now i know what's the reason for the delay. BUT i had also sent my Master's degree certificate from Leeds University, which was a taught degree course in english thereby satisfying the english language requirements. So i dont know why arent they considering that??!! and the small matter of having lived in UK for almost 4 years, having completed MSc from Leeds University and having worked in 2 british companies for 3 years!!! only so much for proof of english language requirements huh.
Null, when did you apply for return of documents? I applied on 21/05/2014. They said it may take upto 10-20 working days, which seems a lot. Let me know when you do get your documents returned and good luck.

Hi Kxip,

Very sorry to hear you're cancelling your application and request for return documents. I spoke to my solicitor and decided to wait for another week. I feel you! I have been living in the UK for 8 years with valid collection of UK visas, graduated from UK university, and worked for British companies. None of those history really matters for them, unfortunately. I just called UKVI (03001232241) and they said I can't ask for an update before 4 weeks after my application posted (May 7th). Up to now I have not yet receive bio-metric letter invitation. I might have to cancel all the arranged trips in 2 weeks time. Absolute nightmare!

I have not yet receive biometric invitation up to today (28 May). It has been 3 weeks and I keep calling UKVI everyday but all they can say is please keep waiting. I got very nervous about this. Is there anyone who can suggest what to do? I am due to traveling in 10 days time.

Hi null1639,

I am in the same situation, I posted my application on the 9th May, it arrived on Monday 11th May and got the acknowledgment letter dated on the 13 May.

I am still waiting for the biometrics invitation.

Have they told you why are they taking time to send it? was it because of a backlog of applications, or was there a problem with the application?

I am a bit nervous about mine too :/
