Hi

I received mine and my spouse's passport last Friday - 18th October 2013. Our visas are granted. I would suggest you to ask your sponsored employer if he can do anything in it. I had read somewhere that many a times the visa is delayed due to some checks that are done on the employer.

I know it's been really long since you are waiting. wish you all the best.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I am very glad that at the end you have received and all is well.

Do you know if I ask my employer to look into what I need to suggest them ? like do they need to contact UKBA or any think else?

Also what is total duration for your application? meaning from the date of filing to receive passport back ? is it 1 and half month or two month?

As I believe tier2 sponsored application valid for 3 month and that to for mine case I have time till November.Don't know what to do?

Thanks!

I would suggest you to tell your employer about your situation and can ask them to see if they can do anything to expedite the process from their end.

I had submitted the application on 19th September and received it on 18th October so you can say almost 30 calendar days and about 18 working days (there were 2-3 holidays in between due to festive season. Not sure whether it makes a difference.) and yes as COS is valid for 3 months I think you do have time till November. But again I have no idea would they consider this validity when the application is already with them. May be you can ask this question to them, the very next time you contact them.

Rest, I would say follow it up with them on a weekly basis. That's all we can do at such times. Have faith! I totally understand it gets so annoying.

Wish you luck!

Hi,

I too had similar replies from BHC Chennai. In my case it is already 90 days completed from the date I submitted my application for Tire 2 General at VFS Bangalore.

I dont think so Employer can influence the UKBA. In my case my employer tried and finally he too got frustrated and he is about to withdraw my sponsorship.

I don’t know why UKBA published in their website stating 100% of non settlement applications within 12 weeks when they cannot process with in the said time lines.

I think so UKBA are having different meaning for 100%. Which I am unable to understand.

Even after the above time lines they replied me stating

“As written to you earlier, we are unable to give you a time frame as to when we will receive the results of the checks that we have initiated. We are sending chasers and doing whatever is necessary to obtain them. Once we receive these the application will continue its assessment process. Once a final decision is made, the passport will be despatched. Request you to wait until such time.

Thank you in advance for your continued patience.”

1. Category applying under (General / ICT / other) : Tier 2 General
2. Country of application : Turkey
3. City of Visa Application Centre : Istanbul
4. Date of application : 29th November 2013
5. Date of submission of documents (if different from 4 above): 03rd December 2013
6. Date Entry Clearance valid from : 15th December 2013
7. Duration for Entry Clearance : 3 Years and 1 Month
8. Date passport received : 17th December 2013

Applied for my dependent (wife) by mistake after 3 days of my application:
1. Category applying under (General / ICT / other) : Tier 2 Dependent
2. Country of application : Turkey
3. City of Visa Application Centre : Istanbul
4. Date of application : 02nd December 2013
5. Date of submission of documents (if different from 4 above): 03rd December 2013
6. Date Entry Clearance valid from : REFUSED
7. Duration for Entry Clearance : REFUSED
8. Date passport received : 17th December 2013

The main reason was because I have applied to my wife after my main application and not at the same time, this was because there was a problem in UKBA new website when trying to print my wife's application, this problem solved after two days of my application, I have applied for her at that time, they said, that we must either apply together or wait to get my visa and attach it to her application.

I have applied again for her, You can see updates and details in:

Hi Srikanth

If you have submitted all the Visa support document related to your category.
they will not take much time, if they are taking much time means..they are processing your application with background checks

They confirmed that it will take 8 - 10 working days. Today ( 10th working day ), I have received an email stating that "In order to assess your visa application we need to carry out further checks. A decision on your application shall be made as soon as we receive the results of our enquiries.
I am afraid it is not possible to tell you exactly when we will receive these results. However we will contact you as soon as a decision has been made.
" .

What does this mean ? What are the timelines for the completion of the above mentioned inquiries ? How long will it take more for me to receive the visa ?
