Tier 2 application from outside UK

Post by newuser79 » Wed Aug 05, 2015 7:12 pm

Dear Experts,

I am not from an English speaking country

As proof to gain 10 points for English language, I have the following

1- Original degree certificate
2- letter from university ( outside UK ) confirming the degree was taught in english
3- I also have the PBS where i claimed 10 points putting my course details.

is this enough or do i need to get a letter from UKNARIC

another problem is the letter from university has my maiden name before marriage. now as per my passport my last name has changed after marriage, is that a problem. ( i can always give my old passport which has my old name which matches with the letter received from the university today )

please can someone help me with my queries

Thanks,

Original degree certificate and the point based calculator printout should be OK. But I will suggest that you get the NARIC letter. There is nor harm in keeping extra documents. You may not need it but sometimes some caseworker ask for it.
As for the name change there should not be a problem as you have your old passport to confirm that.

Post by newuser79 » Thu Aug 06, 2015 12:52 pm

Seniors,

apologies, very new to this forum and all this immigration system.

I've never been to UK before. my sponsor has applied and got me an COS.

but i want to know whether its RCOS or unrestricted COS? can someone let me know. The job they have offered is on general shortage list and salary is GBP 28000

based on your reply, i need to ask my sponsor to apply for my COS online through the sponsor management system

i am worried about some folks who have mentioned points, limits on RCoS. so i am getting worried.

i have read many guidance and sill unclear

Many Thanks

Reading the Tier 2 policy guidance will be helpful.

Hi Seniors/Experts/Moderators,

I have searched many posts on this forum but cant get the exact answer from any experts. kindly help

I am all set to submit my application for Tier 2 General.

But this one query keeps coming in my mind and scared if this could be the reason for refusal. I emailed the home office and got mixed response ( one reply said UK naric not essential and when i called the agent said UK naric letter for English language is essential )

I have a degree from India and i got an letter from university confirming the degree was taught in English

I also have the Points based calculator print out where it has given me 10 points

My query- do I have to get UKNARIC certificate for English Language Assessment.

Please help me- I am paying a huge fee for myself and my 2 dependents and dont want the visa getting denied

Sincerely Thanks

Knowledge of language and life in the UK wrote:o if 10 points are displayed, the qualification has been deemed by UK NARIC to be academically equivalent to a UK Bachelor degree or higher and to have been taught in English
o if zero points are displayed, the qualification may either have been deemed to be below UK Bachelor degree level, or not taught in English, or both
So you do not need any letter from NARIC when PBS calculator awards you 10 points.

Include your degree certificate and PBS calculator prinout of the page showing 10 points for English. Simples!

Thank you Moderator Sushdmehta ji !!!

I am 100% sure now given you have said its not mandatory to get a letter from UK NARIC as long as 10 points are awarded on the PBS calculator. Personally I trust this forum and your responses/guidance more as we dont get mixes responses.

I will go with the degree certificate and PBS calculator prinout of the page showing 10 points for English

I am sure others in this forum when they read your response will benefit from this

Sincere Thanks again
