Tier 2 Application In-Country

Post by rob911 » Tue Feb 10, 2009 8:48 pm

Can someone give me some advice.

I have today obtained my UIN (Certificate reference number from my new employer). I completed work with my old employer on 19/01/09 and obtained Certificate from new employer 10/02/09.

Am I ok to make an appoitment and a PEO to submit my form and supporting documents in order for my FLR to be granted? My current leave expires 10/2012 and assume my old employer will be cancelling my work permit with them shortly (if they haven't done so already).

Bit urgent so any advice welcome.

Rob, once you got the certificate of sponsership URN (Unique Reference No.) from your new employee than, you can go ahead and submit your application at the HO asap as i heard now it is taking a bit longer to provide the results back (4-5weeks) earlier they used to provide visa back in 1week..

Hi Rob
I'm in the same boat as you. The solicitors of my new company submitted the application to Home Office on Friday last week. I don't think we can transfer, I understand it is a complete new application.
I don't kno whow long it takes - according to ramesh is about 3-4weeks. A bit doomed now cos am jobless while waiting for the new work permit to start at the newco.

Anywya, good luck to you and pls keep us posted on your progress.

cheers

Hi - sorry I've not checked the board for a while.

I received my Tier 2 further leave today. If I can help by answering any questions regarding my experience, please feel free to ask.

Cheers

Processing time for Tier 2

Post by moonlight » Mon May 04, 2009 12:15 am

HI,
Does anyone know processing time for tier 2 now as i have got a job offer and my employer knows nothing about tier 2.
He asked me to find out.
Also is it necessary to give advert in jobcentre 100 percent as he has already done advert in the famous professional journal and it is more than 28 days now.

Thanks

I just sent my first Tier2 application yesterday...currently i am on a student visa...do you think they'll call me for finger prints? whats the normal processing time these days for Tier2? what are the chances of getting the visa if the sponsor is an A-Rated employer. ?

Thanks

Hi,

The current time line is approximately 25 days. I applied on 27th of April and received my Tier 2 approval (due to change of employment) on 21st of May.

Presently finger prints are not required for Tier 2 Visa.

Good Luck

nikip,

As this is for transitional arrangements where the applicant has been with the same employer doing the same job for which the initial leave was granted, no documents are required and hence submitted none. Only the application form and passport were sent.

It's 5 years - years you have already been in the UK in the category leading to settlement. Mine is 2 and 1/2 years.
