Tier 2 General - Change of employment

Post by vijay87 » Thu Oct 11, 2012 11:43 am

Hi,

Can anyone please advise me on this. While on Tier 2 General visa, if we change to a new employment (sponsor), assuming they provide the sponsorship for an initial 3 yrs (which is the maximum allowed as per the rules), can we extend it further or not? If we are in the previous employment for less than 2 yrs, will that not affect the chances for completing a 5 year period in order to be able to apply for indefinite leave?

Thanks.

you will be eligible to extend further under T2G (subject to having a new CoS) and can apply for settlement after 5 years continuous and lawful residence.
