Tier 2 ICT - Cooling period

Hello

Mine ICT Tier 2 was processed in October 2010. After my second extension I have valid visa until March 2015.

Could you please let me know if there is any cooling period for Tier 2 ICT? How long it can be extended? is there any limit on number of extensions?

cooling period is only relevant to entry clearance applications.
As your initial T2 ICT leave was under the rules before 6 April 2011 it can be extended indefinitely but you will need a new CoS for each extension. However, you are not eligible for ILR.

I have few queries here?

1. What will happen if I get a new job here? I think in that case it will become Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 general. Can I continue to stay here if I am getting extension? is there any limitation that? If I am correct is it 6 years starting from the date i got my first ICT Tier 2 visa?

2. If I am going back to India and changing the job and if my new company applies for Tier 2 ICT then will it be only for 1 year and then cooling period?

you will not be able to apply for entry clearance for 1 year because T2 ICT long term or short term staff have to be employed by the company for at least 1 year before they become eligible for transfer to the UK.

Hi,

Am in a similar position. My husband was in UK from June 2013 to April 2014 on Tier 2 ICT Short term. He left UK on expiry of his VISA and plans to apply for the same Tier 2 ICT visa next year in April, post the cooling off period.

Meanwhile, we are planning a vacation this October. A couple of queries:-

1) Would it be possible for him to come to UK on Tourist visa?
2) Does the entry into UK on tourist visa affect his cooling off period?

You replied earlier on my below post: I have one query. As I have already spent 4.5 years in Tier 2 ICT, if I get it converted into T2 General then can i stay in UK for indefinite time? is there any restrictions to it?

if you applied for your initial T2 ICT visa before 6 April 2011 you can switch to T2G. You can then stay on T2G for 6 years counted from the time the T2G leave started and you will be eligible to apply for ILR after 5 years. The rules changed in Nov 2014.
