Tier 2 re-enter UK when unemployed

Post by fokus » Sat Apr 12, 2014 10:42 pm

Hi All,

I am on Tier 2 but was recently fired. I need to leave the UK for a week and then re-enter UK. Will immigration officer curtail my leave to 60 days or cancel my Tier 2 Visa and refuse entry?

I know that my company (sponsor) hasn't informed HO about my redundancy yet. But when they do HO will process my case within/after (?) 28 days and curtail my visa to 60 days and notify by post.
So if I travel within 28 days I can re-enter whereas If I try to re-enter after my visa has already been curtailed I won't be allowed to re-enter.

At the same time p. 321 says that they can cancel my visa if grounds of issuing visa seized.
How immigration officer would decide curtail VS cancel visa?

Thank you for your help in advance.
