Tier 4 post study & dependent visa

Post by ahoussami »

Hi guys,

I have two points to inquire about, I would be grateful if anyone could help

I was wondering if anyone knows whether:

1- Tier 4 dependent visa counts towards ILR; i.e. years spent by the dependent are accounted for when applying for a permanent residency. For example, I know that Tier 2 dependent visa does count towards ILR.

2- Does the 2 year post study work permit count towards the ILR? In other words, are the two years (in which a student spends in the UK after graduating in 20/21 academic year) accounted for towards ILR?

Your intake is very much appreciated

Thanks in advance

Both visa categories would only count for ILR based on 10 years long residence and not for ILR based on 5 years residence.

thanks for the info,

so one will have to shift to "tier 2" in order to apply for the 5 year ILR

Yes and you will need 5 years on Tier 2 before you can apply, provided you meet the requirements.
