Finding a Job Before Applying For Tier 5?

Hi,

I qualify for the Tier 5 (Youth Mobility Scheme). I was going to apply for my visa to start on July 1, 2017 (I know I can't apply until April 1, 2017 at the earliest). I was wondering -- is it legal for me to apply for jobs/participate in Skype interviews from my home in Canada before applying for/being granted the visa? My reasoning is that I (ideally) don't want to waste any of the 2 years on my visa unemployed.

Thank you for the quick reply! I heard from several Londoners that it is illegal to search for work/interview in the UK while on a holiday there (i.e. a visitor's visa). So this wouldn't be the same thing then, right?

You state you will be searching for a job from Canada, so I replied based on that.

Correct, you should not be doing 'business activities' on a tourist visa to the UK.
