Portuguese Citizen living in the UK - Looking for advice

I am a 16 year old Portuguese citizen, who has lived in the UK since August 2008. I am looking to move to the US, but find that I am not eligible for most of the visas. Is the diversity lottery a good chance to get a green card? I am currently in a 1 year course in a vocational college. I am trying to explore my options, but would love some advice.
