UK TIER 1 Gen Visa Holder want to Apply Tourist Visa to US

Hi Team

I am a TIER 1 Gen Visa holder expiring on 23rd March 2015. I want to apply for US tourist visa just to visit New York, Disney World, Hollywood etc. I have checked the below website for all the information but not sure how much funds I have to show for 2 people while submiting my visa application and how long funds needs to be in my account?

I applied when I was on a work permit, went for 2 weeks and showed 2k in the bank account. Though it was just me and had relatives there.

Have you budgeted your expenses for the NY/DW/HW triangle travel hotel and expenses?

wpilr_nov12 as per website http://london.usembassy.gov/nonimmigrant-visas.html they advise not to plan or book anything before getting the visa.

But I can confirm that I have £8000 as saving which I'll be using for travel hotel and expenses. I have just done a bit of research on travel,hotel and expenses and I can spend £5000 for 2 people for 2 week holiday. After this I still can show £3000 as spare money which I can take with me.

Please advise if this is sufficient or do I need to show more funds in my account.
