Entry and Exit stamps on passport relevance for SET(O)

When putting down the list of absences in the SET(O) form, while putting in the ‘From’ and ‘To’ dates, I am assuming it should tie in with the entry and exit stamps on the passport. While checking through my passport if all the entry and exit stamps are in order, I have noticed that there are no stamps on my passport when I am leaving Heathrow. Though, all stamps at the destination once I land there are in place.

I have tried to explain my query in the form of the table below. If you notice the Heathrow authorities don’t stamp our passports when we leave UK, but only stamp when we come back in. But in India, they stamp both the times (when you enter India and leave as well).

Stamped at
Mumbai Heathrow
Trip 1 London - Mumbai 17/08/2008 No Stamp
Mumbai London 30/08/2008 31/08/2008
Trip 2 London - Mumbai 27/09/2008 No Stamp
Mumbai London 12/10/2008 12/10/2008
Trip 3 London - Mumbai 14/11/2010 No Stamp
Mumbai London 01/12/2010 01/12/2010

Can someone please confirm if this is alright (Also curious to know why does this happen)

Cheers!

This is because there is no embarkation control at UK airports. UK govt scrapped it years ago as it was causing millions of pounds of taxpayer's money.

And yes its perfectly alright.

I noticed the same thing...only entery stamp at heathrow no exit. My ILR is due next month...I think as mentioned aboce entry stamp in India will give an indication of departyre date from UK.

To be on safer side I am putting an extra day for travel while leaving UK.

As sometime you depart on 20th from UK but arrive on 21st in India. So, put the date a day previous to entry stamp in India.
